About Stainless Steel — Corrosion-Resistant Alloys for Critical Applications
Stainless steel is an iron-based alloy containing a minimum 10.5% chromium. This chromium content forms a self-healing passive oxide layer that provides exceptional resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and staining. Suresh Metals stocks austenitic grades from the economical 304 to the high-molybdenum 317 and high-temperature 310, all supplied with traceable Mill Test Certificates conforming to ASTM, EN, JIS, and IS standards.
Our stainless steel programme covers nine primary grades across ten product forms, making Suresh Metals a single-source supplier for fabricators, OEMs, project houses, EPC contractors, and engineering companies across India. We also export to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, East Africa, and other regions — all material shipped with LULU / SGS / Bureau Veritas third-party inspection available on request. All material is held in ready stock at our Mumbai facility — no lead-time surprises.
Sheets & Plates
Stainless steel sheets (up to 5 mm) and plates (above 5 mm) are the most widely consumed product forms. Cold-rolled (CR) sheets offer superior surface quality and tighter thickness tolerances, while hot-rolled annealed & pickled (HRAP) plates are preferred for heavy structural, pressure-vessel, and boiler applications. We supply standard size sheets as well as cut-to-size plates to minimise your material waste.

Coils & Strips
Stainless steel coils are cold-rolled flat material in continuous lengths wound on a mandrel. Slit coils and strips are produced by slitting master coils to precise widths for stamping, roll-forming, tube-making, and continuous-process industries. All coils are supplied in 2B finish as standard, with BA finish available for bright, mirror-like interiors.

Pipes & Tubes
Stainless steel pipes and tubes are categorised as seamless (extruded without a weld seam — offering superior mechanical integrity and pressure rating) and welded (formed from strip/coil and seam-welded — economical for lower-pressure, instrumentation, and structural uses). We maintain stock in the most commonly specified sizes and schedules.

Round Bar
Stainless steel round bars are the primary raw material for machined components — valve bodies, pump shafts, fastener blanks, flanges, and precision turned parts. Hot-rolled (black) bars are economical for rough machining; cold-drawn bright bars provide tighter tolerances, better surface finish, and improved machinability with less material removal. Turned, ground & polished (TGP) bars offer micron-level dimensional accuracy for close-fit applications.
